We want to thank all our partners, all the performing acts, all the vendors and all the crew for their relentless effort to make sure everything ran smoothly and for making the event such a success.

It is less than 24 hours to Urbanscapes, so what better time than to come up with a list of things to keep in mind before, during and after our city's most fun festival!

- Hitch a ride

While there might be loads of parking spots at Armada Hotel and Amcorp Mall, it still doesn't hurt to car pool or take public transportation (the Asia Jaya LRT station is just a 5 min walk away). Or maybe you could squeeze some exercise into it by cycling to Urbanscapes. The world thanks you.

- What's your colour?

Urbanscapes is an all-ages festival but there are certain areas of the site which is restricted only to those who are 18 and above. To avoid confusion within the festival grounds, we will card everyone at the entrance and assign the right wristband colour respectively. Orange for those 18 and above, and blue for those below. Those with black wristbands are performers, so feel free to mob them if you like.

- Make sure to bring enough cash

The closest ATM machines are at Amcorp mall, which is a 5-10 min walk away. So if you don't want to trek out of the festival site every time you run out of money shopping, drinking or eating, do bring enough cash with you (and preferably in small denominations, vendors will thank you for it). But with cash, comes responsibility, so do make sure to keep your possessions safe with you at all times.

- It is an all-day, rain or shine event

While we don't expect Glastonbury-type conditions (we're in a field in PJ, after all!), weather can still be unpredictable. And since the show will go on, rain or shine, it is best to come prepared with both sunblock and a poncho if you can. And dress comfortably!

- Keeping your phones full of juice

The days of phones lasting for weeks on a single charge are long gone. You'll be lucky if your phone lasts for more than half a day with all that tweeting, picture-taking, texting and if you still do this, talking you'll be doing at Urbanscapes. Thankfully, there will be charging stations at Urbanscapes, all thanks to the awesome folks at the TM presents EveryoneConnects zone. Head to get power-up!

- So many things going on, where's the guide?

In our efforts to minimise wastage and to limit the amount of printed materials at Urbanscapes, we won't be printing any personal guides this year. Detailed schedules and maps are available on this web site and around various parts of the festival site. Alternatively, you can always look up the mobile guide provided by the nice folks at whatsup.my at http://urbanscapes.whatsup.my/

- Smile loads!

Part of the fun, and what makes Urbanscapes great, is the friendly vibe all around, and how comfortable everyone is in turning strangers into friends. So don't spoil the mood by wearing anything other than a smile. Having your first date at Urbanscapes is also highly encouraged.

- Keep yourself well-fed and hydrated

Amid all the fun, don't forget to allocate some time towards food and drink to keep you going. Of all places, you wouldn't want to be a casualty in a padang in Petaling Jaya.

- The only thing you should be shooting with is with your camera

Feel free to come with whatever camera you like and snap away, but please leave all weapons, pointy objects and other hazardous items at home, or wherever you found them.

- Everyone loves people who clean after themselves

There are trash bins all around the festival grounds. Do everyone a favour and make sure that, that is the only place where your trash ends up. No one likes a messy and dirty park, least of all MBPJ, who have generously let us use the venue, so please show our appreciation by doing our part.

- Create and keep lots of memories

Check out the two cool new apps launching at Urbanscapes. Style Snaps (stylesnap.it), to help you snap, share and keep track of all those stylish festival-goers (including yourself). And Gigorama (gigorama.net), your live music companion to capture all the best festival sets and to relive it all over again after the festival

Now go have 12 continuous hours of fun!

The Urbanscapes schedule in the palm of your hand... thanks to WhatsUP.my!

Sereni & Shentel created exclusive headbands for Urbanscapes 2011 in collaboration with Tongue in Chic. We managed to steal a few minutes of their time to get their thoughts on Urbanscapes this year!

Q: Is this your first time participating in Urbanscapes?

A: It is indeed our first time.

Q: What made you decide to collaborate on exclusive pieces with Tongue in Chic for Urbanscapes?

A: We are such fans of Tongue in Chic and Urbanscapes stands for everything we LOVE.

Q: Can you share with us the inspiration for this exclusive Urbanscapes collection?

A: We were inspired by neons for our collaboration. We created a custom set of headbands that can be spotted from the moon. Our motto was be seen or go home!

Q: What are your expectations for Urbanscapes this year?

A: Lots of dancing, lots of eating, a bit of cheeky shopping and a whole lot of WOOOOHOOOOs!

Q: What are you most excited about with regards to Urbanscapes 2011?

A: Kyoto Protocol.... Pussycat...! Meow.....

Q: How many years have KLickr been involved with Urbanscapes?

A: We have been involved since 2008. Urbanscapes 2011 is our fourth.

Q: What are your expectations for this years' Urbanscapes as compared to the previous years?

A: More people of all ages are enjoying photography now. This year, we expect more involvement from visitors. Different from previous years where we showcase projects from our KLickr collective, this year we focus more on facilitating and organizing activities that create more user-generated content. For example, leading up to Urbanscapes, we organized themed photowalks, in collaboration with "Million Happy Faces" project and Malaysian writer Kam Raslan, which were open to public.

Q: What are the activities that you have planned for Urbanscapes?

A: We will have 3 contests & photo screenings:

5-minute Photo Express screenings (PDF poster attached) where each guest will have 5 mins to show their pictures (e.g. 20pics within 5mins) Great way to share photo essays.

Photobooth for Charity where for RM10, every visitor gets their portrait taken in our booth by our KLickr photographers, and uploaded to our Facebook event page. Entries are eligible for prizes from us. Proceeds go to the Everyone Has Hope Project, created by the International Canadian Pre-University students of Taylor's College Malaysia, towards awareness and fund-raising to help refugees here in Malaysia. More info on Everyone Has Hope http://everyonehashope.tumblr.com/

This is a contest where we'll have guest judges to help us select the coolest image that fit the theme. Winners stand to win prizes like vouchers and one year subsription to Flickr Pro account (more info on www.flickr.com)

Urbanscapes Portrait Shoot & Contest where we get photographers to go out and photograph as many Urbancapes visitors as possible. portraits to be collected on the spot and shown in the evening on big screen

Q: How can photography enthusiasts join you if they are interested?

A: During urbanscapes, photog enthusiasts can join us by visiting our booth, KLickrVille. At any time, photog enthusiasts can join the flickr group or like the FB page and join or suggest photo walks or talks or shoots

The Making of...
